Helps You Cut Further Away Without Ladders ➖Reasonably Sharp After Twelve Branches!

The vendor took 15 days from the date this was ordered to actually ship the product. From then on it was the normal fast service, just 2 days to actually arrive to me.This was received from the vendor in a branded box. The contents & a short instruction sheet were all stored inside a net type carrying bag, that has a closure you can pull tight & lock with a little keeper. The saw is about as long as the storage bag, & they ship it with a fairly thick plastic protective cover over it to help you keep from cutting yourself before you even get it put together.Basically there are 10 sections and the saw. Those 10 rod sections you can screw together to extend the saw out about 21 feet. 7 sections are just “plain” rods with a male screw side & a female screw side. One section has a starting end (no female end) with a grab area on it.Another section also has a grab area on it.Then the last section connects to the saw itself (rather than connects to another rod). The sections are sturdy but light weight, the saw itself looks sharp & it is a substantial size — enough to tackle fairly large tree limbs. The metal does not appear to be cheap but looks like it should hold up & last a while. It really seems well thought out & it doesn’t take up near as much room as you’d think once all disconnected & back in its carrying bag.We got this to try to cut some overhanging branches maybe 3-4 inches around, maybe 12-15 feet up high. This device should just about reach & with some elbow grease we should be able to cut the branches away.We did finally get to try this, and it does live up to expectations. You still have to do a lot of work — & the saw being extended out isn’t the easiest thing to try to manage. However, there is a nice tradeoff not needing to get up on a ladder or work from a truck bed.It worked well for us, and even after cutting thru at least a dozen branches, the teeth look and behave sharp enough for another run. This product seems to be a good value and does what you’d expect any extension saw should do.

Highly adjustable and sharp saw blade

What I like about this limb trimmer is the ability to adjust the height to whatever I need for each job. I have a different fiberglass telescoping limb trimmer, but it's design means it weighs the same at every length. However, this trimmer is lighter weight overall even with all the poles connected, and can be lighter when segments are removed for trimming lower (closer) branches. Another thing that I like are the hooked ends of the saw blade, which keeps the blade from sliding all the way out of the grove in the branch. My other limb trimmer has a curved blade and from time to time, the blade slips out and I have to strain to keep the pole from dropping to the ground. One more feature I like about this trimmer is that there are two screws that fasten the blade to the handle. I mention this because my telescoping trimmer only has a single screw. As a result, over time, the back and forth motion has caused the screw to become stripped and falls out. I've lost several screws and had to order more. I'm hoping/expecting that with two screws in this trimmer that the screws will be more stable and secure so they won't get stripped. The only drawback is that the pole does get more wobbly as more segments are added. This flexibility can make it more challenging to get good cuts through branches that are higher up.

Still hard work, but simple to use at the medium height

Pros:• Nice mesh storage bag to keep it in• This is lightweight and very easy to use.• The pole has a good grip and it's easy to add the pieces to the length you need• The blade seemed to stay pretty sharp even after I had pruned several branches over a weekend• I would say I was able to handle 3 to 4 inch branches even at a height of 15 feetCons:• It's still hard work and takes as much work to use the tip cutter as it does to saw a branch as well• The more extensions you add, the more the pole bends so you can't really cut too much at the maximum height• Since it doesn't have string to grab and pinch smaller branches, it's near impossible to saw anything that is bendy

Awesome Light To Medium Duty Pruning Saw

I have an electric pole saw that works on larger branches, but what I like about this saw is how lightweight it is to use! I've cut up to 3" branches with this saw the highest one was about 15' above me and it worked fine. The grip is good (with rubber work gloves on) on the pole and the connections are easy in & out. After a bunch of cutting this weekend, this saw was just as sharp after I finished as when I started. With the pole saw, I know I'm going through 2 chains a weekend! It is so nice not to have to use the pole saw (Its heavy) for everything I need to cut, This unit did over 1/3 of what needed to be cut! My arms thanked me by the end of the weekend. Plus when I'm on my extension ladder reaching, this saw is much easier to handle up high! When I used it on the ground, the handle is very comfortable in my hand and cutting is quick. The mesh storage bag is durable and a nice way to store the many pieces of this saw. One drawback is that I miss the old school types with the string to pull and pinch smaller branches. This one takes as much energy to use the tip cutter to prune as it does to saw a branch. Also, the more extensions you add the more the pole bends taking torque away from the cut. But I will say that using this saw along with my pole saw, this years trimming & pruning was quicker and a lot less painful on my 61 year old arms!

Safely trim high branches without ever taking your feet off the ground. Aggressive blade tackles thicker branches, hooked ends take care of smaller suckers.
